Jack Timmons obituary

Private services for Jack Douglas Timmons of Grass Valley will be conducted.

Mr. Timmons died Monday, May 22, in Grass Valley. He was 87.

He was born April 12, 1919, in Amarillo, Texas, to Benjamin Timmons and Lora Boydstun. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and fought in Iwo Jima. He married Marian on Aug. 16, 1941, in Pasadena. He worked in the aircraft industry. He enjoyed fishing and camping.



He is survived by his daughters Tricia Hunter of Verdi, Nev., and Barbara Marlin of Nevada City; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Marian Timmons in 2002.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
