Jack Keller

Graveside memorial service for Jack R. “Jake” Keller of Lake of the Pines will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at the Auburn Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at his home in Lake of the Pines.

Mr. Keller died Wednesday, March 1, at home. He was 78.

He was born on June 29, 1927, in Battle Creek, Michigan. At the age of 17, he served as a Great Lakes Merchant Marine. Soon thereafter he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Submarine Corps and served as a torpedoman. He was stationed in California. He worked with Pacific Telephone as a lineman and finished his 35-year career as an advertising sales manager. He enjoyed puttering in his shop, gardening, motorcycling the western states, playing guitar and walking around the lake with his two dogs.



He is survived by his wife, Jane; sons, Jeff and Randy; daughters-in-law, Sandy and Christina; grandchildren, Daniel, Shawn, Curtis, Corey and Jocelyn; great-grandchildren, Jeff and Austin; and cousin, Shirley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association of Sacramento, Auburn Hospice or AnimalSave in Grass Valley.
