Iva Carter

Iva D. Carter, 80, of Grass Valley died Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Mrs. Carter was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Harlingen, Texas, to Thomas and Ida (Laramore) Porter. She married Herman Carter in 1933 at Brady, Texas. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed crocheting and reading.




She is survived by her sons Bill Carter of Morgan Hill and Gene Carter and Kenneth Carter, both of Grass Valley; daughters Faye Carter of Grass Valley and Janice Carter of Oregon; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; daughter Betty Carter in 1934; and sons Donald Carter in 1973 and Terry Carter in 1991.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
