It’s about religion

A friend and I were talking about the war in Iraq. I said I couldn’t understand how George W. got his support from the American people. My friend said, “It’s religion ” ambitious men have used it for their advancement throughout the ages; there have been religious crusades since there has been recorded history. You convince your people that the enemy doesn’t believe in your God and that they want to kill you.” And then he added, “Of course this religious rant was/is a thinly veiled argument for what was/is actually sought.” I thought about his statement and how it relates to the situation in Iraq. George W.’s war is just another crusade ” a crusade for our religion, a religion of oil consumption.
