It was unfair to target basketball mom

I’ve been following for sometime now the string of stories from the various media outlets on the story of the “Bear River mom” who gave alcohol to the girls basketball team this past winter.

Your DA is a real piece of work who never even bothered to show up at the court hearing for Ms. Osterholt!

Why, you ask? It is because he had no case when she was forced to hire an expensive attorney to represent herself against a group girls who know they are being less than honest about what happened that evening. According to witness statements, they were drunk way before they ever arrived at the Osterholt home that evening. Rumors of shoplifting and solicitation of alcohol were never investigated by the authorities.

Those girls should know that their “15 minutes of shame” are over, in my opinion – and Mr. Newell, shame on you for making assumptions to further your wife’s platform on drunk driving and making Ms. Osterholt pay for your abuse of power.

Let’s hope that a judgeship is not in your future and that this paper learns to get all the facts before you try another case in the court of public stupidity!
