It was love at first sight

If you have Comcast, you’ve probably seen him on NCTV: Clod Headgate, a live, one-man band. Headgate is an acoustic soloist who plays classic rock, hot country, variety and original songs and does original parodies and comedy. His show is called “Clodhoppers” and is in its third year.

He is actually Gary Hinze, and he is celebrating 25 years of marriage to Sandie on Saturday. It’s the ultimate Valentine.

Sandie shares how they got together:

“We met in L.A. in 1981. He was touring on the road and I was working at Universal Studios, and we had mutual actor friends. I was having a party, and my friends called at the last minute, asking if they could bring a friend who just arrived back in town from his tour. I said sure. He really didn’t want to meet a ‘studio brat’ and I didn’t want to meet another entertainer. After all, I had to work with them all day, and there were too many egos for me. Well, it was love at first sight. We were married two years later in Reno on the way to Utah for his grandpa’s funeral so we could sleep in grandma’s feather bed.”

If you want to catch Hinze’s act, tune in Wednesdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 11 p.m. He’s also on KFOK 95.1 FM radio out of Georgetown Mondays, 5-6 p.m. (on Internet
