Ilda Starr

Visitation for family and friends of Ilda Vee Starr of Nevada City will be from 10:30-11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nevada City. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Nevada City.

Mrs. Starr died Saturday, June 12, in Nevada City. She was 87.

She was born June 3, 1917, in Idahome, Idaho, to Francis LeRoy Cheney and Edith LaVinnie Cheney. She married Dean H. Starr on Jan. 29, 1937, in Oakland. She was a homemaker, and a member of the LDS Church in Camptonville. She enjoyed painting, sewing, dancing and music.

She is survived by her son, Michael D. Starr of Grass Valley; daughters Judith A. Starr of Livermore, and Janet V. Starr of Grass Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Linda S. and Randy Richey of Nevada City; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean H. Starr in 1995.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sierra Services for the Blind or Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
