Horne routes $4,444 to Friends of Nevada County Military

Supervisor Sue Horne has given $4,444 in raffle proceeds to the Nevada County Friends of the Military.

The money came from a Regional Council of Rural Counties raffle for charity at the September RCRC meeting in Napa, which Horne chaired.

Horne will give Friends President Fred Buhler a check at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night at the group’s monthly box packing party at the Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Building.

The funds will be used to continue sending care packages, phone cards and letters to deployed troops from Nevada County. The group also helps veterans re-enter the community and provides support to their families.
