Hoping to score greenbacks, NC plans green workshop

Hoping to snatch federal stimulus funds marked for sustainable development, Nevada City is putting together a “green team” at a Monday workshop.

Members of the public are invited to attend the first session from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 317 Broad Street. A second session is scheduled for March 23.

The team would bring together businesspeople, conservation advocates and other community members, who would work to find grants that fit the city’s goals and craft a long-term sustainable development plan.
