Honoring veterans

Veteran’s Day is Nov. 11, and members of the Bear River Lioness Club are honoring those who served in WWI, WWII and the Korean conflict with an Appreciation Luncheon on Saturday, Nov. 3.

This event will be held at the Higgins Lions Community Center, just outside Lake of the Pines.

Lunch is free to veterans and their guest. The door will open at 11 a.m. for an hour of socializing, and lunch will begin at noon. Veterans are invited to bring photos and memorabilia to share.

Members of the Higgins Diggins Lions Club have offered to provide transportation for veterans as needed. Seating is limited, so those who would like to attend, please RSVP to 268-0906.

On behalf of the Lionesses and veterans who attended last year, I would like to thank John Hart of The Union for covering that very special event.
