‘Hometown hero’ to speak at area churches

Sierra City resident Tom Dines, who was chosen as a hometown hero by the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, will speak Sunday at United Methodist churches in North San Juan, Downieville and Sierra City, which comprise the North Gold Circuit. Dines was treated to a flight on an F-16 at the Capital City Air Show Sept. 7. Dines will share his story at 8:30 a.m. in North San Juan, 10:30 a.m. in Downieville and 10:30 a.m. in Sierra City. The North Gold Circuit is a circuit compromised of the United Methodist Churches in North San Juan, Downieville and Sierra City. For information, call (530) 289-3140.
