Homer Ruble

Services for Homer “Dale” Ruble of Nevada City will be conducted at a later date. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren, Ind.

Mr. Ruble died Saturday, Dec. 1, in Grass Valley. He was 88.

He was born on June 12, 1914, in Warren, Ind., to Henry and Effie Ruble. He was one of 10 children. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946, during World War II. He worked as a farmer for more than 60 years in Indiana. He moved to Nevada County in 1998 to be near his family. He was a member of the Bluffton, Ind., Masonic Lodge as a 32nd Degree Mason for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.

He is survived by his sons, Phil Ruble of Nevada City and Mark Ruble of Ocala, Fla.; brother, Don Ruble of Bluffton, Ind.; grandchildren, Craig Ruble and Laurie Michel; and great-grandchildren Kayla Allen, Anthony Michel and Chase Ruble.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
