Highway 49 northbound blocked in Grass Valley

A white-and-yellow Ford Bronco was stuck on the guard rail of the northbound lane of the Golden Center Freeway in Grass Valley shortly after noon today, blocking traffic and slowing travel to nearly a stand-still.

As the second heavy rain of the season fell today, the truck hit the rail at about at 12:53 p.m. A wheel came off, landing in the area of the Holiday Inn that is under construction, according to the California Highway Patrol Web site.

No injuries were reported.
