High wind advisory for foothills, central state

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for western Nevada Couny this weekend, along with much of Northcentral California ranging from Redding south to Turlock and from the Sierra foothills to the Pacific Coast.

Winds from the south and southeast today are forecast to be around 10 mph, with an 80-percent chance of rain tonight.

Rain is likely today, though less likely tonight. Highs today will be near 46 and lows around 35 degrees, the service predicted.



Meteorologists also issued a snow advisory for the higher elevations along the entire Sierra Nevada range.
