High school district financial manager headed for Roseville

Julie Hopkins, for the past five years the Nevada Joint Union High School District’s top financial manager, is resigning to take a similar position with the Roseville City School District.

Hopkins’ last day with the Nevada County school district is Feb. 4.

Superintendent Maggie Deetz praised Hopkins as a dedicated employee who served the 4,200-student high school district well during her tenure.

As assistant superintendent for business services, Hopkins is in charge of finalizing the district’s $32.5 million budget, as well as overseeing construction projects within the district while maintaining the district’s solvency.

She will begin next month a similar job with the Roseville City School District. The K-8 district has 8,200 students in 16 schools.
