Henry Toccalini

Services for Henry J. Toccalini, a Nevada City native, were conducted in Maxwell.

Mr. Toccalini died Friday, Dec. 27, in Colusa. He was 87.

After graduating from Nevada City High School, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines. He retired after 37 years of service with the Tahoe National Forest in Truckee. He then moved to Maxwell in 1974.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Vera and Donald E. Steger of Nevada City; son, Joel McDermott of Meridian; daughter, Bette Lausten of Maxwell; nephew, Donald R. Steger of Cedarville; niece, Diane Thomas of Seattle; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola “Mamie” Toccalini, in 1997.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
