Help needed in locating runaway girl

Tim and Cindy Todd of Alta Sierra are requesting the public’s help in finding their runaway 17-year-old daughter Jennifer, last seen early Friday morning at their home on the 11000 block of Norager Way.

“Nobody’s in trouble,” said Tim Todd Monday. “We just want to know she’s OK.”

Jennifer left a note, and apparently departed through her bedroom window.

“I love you guys and I’m sorry,” was the general tone of the note, Todd said.

She did not say where she was headed or how she could be reached.

A former member of the Nevada Union Nordic ski team, Jennifer took her new snowboard, boots and snow gloves. She left her car and her cell phone behind, Todd said.

The couple reported her missing to the Grass Valley Police Department, and she was entered into the California Department of Justice Missing and Unidentified Persons database, accessed by law enforcement agencies nationwide.

Grass Valley Police Sgt. Joe Matteoni said local police take an average of five to 10 reports of runaway and missing juveniles and adults every week.

“Usually the child will return home,” he said. “Some take longer than others.”

The Todd ask anyone with information an the whereabouts of their daughter to call him at 205-8622, 205-8623 or 205-8624.
