I moved here in 1987 and opened my practice in 1988.

I have a master’s degree in civil engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany. In 1970, I came to the United States for postgraduate studies in hydrology.

After one year, I decided to quit the engineering field, because I found a calling to more directly contribute to people, which has always been my true passion.

In 1978, I was unable to walk or stand upright due to unrelenting and excruciating pain. A chiropractor in Berkeley changed my life. Within two weeks, I again performed heavy physical work.

He encouraged me to become a chiropractor so I could show others that all true healing comes not from drugs and surgery, but from within. I graduated from Life Chiropractic College-West in 1986.

Later, I completed nearly 500 class hours in functiona7l neurology, and in 2005 passed a rigorous written and practical examination to became a diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB).

Continued studying saved my life and helps me help others. In 1990, I was chronically depressed.

I refused to accept treatment involving more antidepressants; but by eliminating carbohydrate foods for two weeks, especially flour, sugar and alcohol, most of my horrible physical and psychological symptoms simply vanished.

Why? The brain controls all aspects of your human experience: Your thoughts, moods, memory, emotions, pain perception, heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, digestion, immune response, movements, muscle tone, posture, etc.

To function optimally, the brain requires adequate oxygen, proper nutrition (especially balanced blood sugar) and input and activation, primarily from movement.

I grew up in Germany loving breads, pastries, great chocolates and German beer – but eating these foods creates blood sugar swings and low blood sugar episodes, with devastating effects on brain function.

The objective of my clinical work is to assist people with all kinds of symptoms to restore optimal brain function for an optimal life.
