Have some laughs at the Holbrooke

Comedy Night at the Holbrooke Hotel in Grass Valley on Saturday presents Richard Stockton as headliner.

Stockton claims to be a feral child raised by Republicans; indeed, he looks like a cross between Ronald Reagan and Don Knotts. In his 20 years as a standup comedian, he has appeared on dozens of national TV shows, including BET’s “Live From LA and” NBC’s “Friday Night.” He has also appeared in “Love Da Money,” a feature film. He has headlined A-list comedy clubs from coast to coast – the Improv, Punchline, Comedy Underground, Comedy Works, Dangerfield’s – and developed an audience of devotees for his unique take on the human potential movement.

His first book, “Fondle The Fear,” is now in its second printing and is the basis for a TV show by the same name, currently being produced by Comcast television.

Kevin Young will also be getting laughs of his own. All this on Saturday night at 9 p.m.

Tickets are $10; call 263-4544 for reservations. The hotel is located at 212 W. Main St. in Grass Valley.
