Harry Engelman

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley for Harry Engelman.

Mr. Engelman, of Nevada City, died Oct. 7, 2007, in Grass Valley. He was 68.

Mr. Engelman was born Sept. 7, 1939, to Harry and Paulene Engelman in Fresno. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he earned a bachelor of arts degree.



Mr. Engelman married Hyon Hui in Korea.

He taught art at Sequoia High School for 30 years. He was president of the Duck Club and enjoyed carving shore birds and painting. He was an all-around artist.




Mr. Engelman is survived by his wife of 41 years, Hyon Hui Engelman of Nevada City; sister, Bonnie Strickland of San Jose, Calif.; nephew, Jason Strickland of San Jose; niece, Jaimie Strickland of San Jose; uncle George Engelman of Fresno; and aunt Dorothy Byers of San Jose.

Arrangements are under direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
