Harmony Festival promotes fun and global cooling

At the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, Friday through Sunday, June 8-10, is a gathering that unites music of all sorts with environmental consciousness raising, camping and a darn good party with a purpose.

A smattering of participating bands include Hot Buttered Rum, Animal Liberation Orchestra, Sound Tribe Sector 9 and Ganga Girl (with the very best of trance dance culture). Soul and hip-hop will be well represented.

Distinguished speakers include Amy Goodman, Arianna Huffington, Edwin Black, Van Jones and Rabbi Michael Lerner; the theme of this 29th festival is Promoting Global Cooling.
