Harada presents ‘Jesus Christ’

“Jesus Christ Superstar,” a popular Broadway musical that was made into a movie in the 1970s, will be performed nine times between Friday and Dec. 8 in Grass Valley.

Chris Harada Productions, Inc. will present the musical at City Centre Playhouse, 127 Bank St.

The rock opera examines Christ’s last week on earth. The music was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

Chris Harada is the director; David Lynn is the musical director; and Dusty Moore is the choreographer. Lynn also plays Jesus, Moore plays Judas, and Marya Hicks plays Mary.

Admission is $15 general, which includes dessert and a beverage. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more.

Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m. Sunday performances are at 2 p.m. Call (916) 780-4931 for reservations or information.
