Josh Jaskier of Grass Valley’s Boy Scout Troop 4 has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouting. Less than 4 percent of Scouts earn the rank.

Jaskier earned his Eagle Scout rank by completing more than 300 requirements, including a community leadership service project requiring a minimum of 125 service hours. He planned and coordinated improvements to Tahoe National Forest’s Hallelujah Trail, supervising and assisting in the design, material procurement, hand excavation and brushing, bank reinforcement and final grading of two wash-outs on the popular trail.

Born in Santa Cruz, he moved with his family to Nevada County when he was 6 months old. He is a senior at Nevada Union High School and is a second-year student in the local ROP electronics program.
