Guilty plea entered in Nevada County child sex case

Taylor Mordue

A man facing child sex accusations has pleaded guilty in Nevada County Superior Court and is expected to receive a six-year sentence, authorities said.

Taylor Mordue, 28, pleaded guilty Thursday to an oral copulation accusation. Held Friday on $100,000 in bond, Mordue is scheduled for sentencing June 21.

Mordue has been jailed since Sept. 2 — around the same time court documents claim he performed a sex act with a child under 14 years old.

“She reported it a little later on,” Assistant District Attorney Chris Walsh said. “Obviously, a case like this we take pretty seriously.”

Mordue faced a maximum of eight years’ incarceration on his accusation.

Deputy Public Defender Tamara Zuromskis, who represents Mordue, declined comment.
