Grouse Ridge meeting Thursday

Residents interested in the push to refurbish and rent out the Grouse Ridge fire lookout are invited to attend a meeting on the project’s progress Thursday.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Tahoe National Forest’s offices on 631 Coyote St. in Nevada City. Forest Service personnel will update the public on efforts to turn the facility, built in 1923, into a rental unit for campers. Located near the Highway 20- I-80 interchange, the lookout hasn’t been used for about 30 years.

To join an e-mail list providing updates on the lookout, contact Ann Westling at the TNF at (530) 478-6205.
