Grass Valley’s twin

Grass Valley is home for me, though I don’t live here for much of the year. Since I still retain a great interest in local goings-on, I thought I’d see if anyone knows that Grass Valley has a twin city in England. By one of those odd flukes in life, I have longtime friends who own a farm not three miles from Grass Valley’s twin.

When I visited them recently, I was quite proud to see a nice little garden with a big sign proclaiming “Bodmin, Cornwall, is twinned with Grass Valley, California, USA” at the entrance to the town.

This town has a most interesting history, which has been greatly influenced by our Cornish connection; many families here came well over 100 years ago.

Surely we can at least give Bodmin the same recognition they give us?
