Grand opening at BriarPatch

When BriarPatch Co-op, a beloved natural food store, opened the doors of its new state-of-the-art “green” store on May 30, “ohs” and “ahs” were heard all around.

Now the market is hosting a celebration at a grand opening event Friday, June 22, through Sunday, June 24.

Entertainment – 11 local acts in all – includes instrumental and vocal music (see schedule below) and some great raffle prizes. (How about an all-terrain bike and a personal navigator GPS system?) Proceeds go to local charities. Of course, there will be delicious food to sample, and kids will have activities to choose from. All is free.

“This event is about more than BriarPatch being a fantastic place to buy organic and natural food,” said General Manager Paul Harton. “It’s about community mindedness and enabling people to participate in our community.”

The market is located at 290 Sierra College Drive, just off the traffic circle, in Grass Valley. Call (530) 272-5333 or 271-2034 for more information or visit the Web at
