Gordon Hansen

Services for Gordon E. Hansen of Penn Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Canice Church in Nevada City. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mr. Hansen died Saturday, Feb. 18, in Grass Valley. He was 80.

He was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Burlington, Wash., to Elvess Dohner Hansen and Mary Gwendolyn Weston. He graduated from Kearney State College in Nebraska. He married Mary on Feb. 5, 1949, in Nebraska. He was a real estate broker. He was a member of the Lake Wildwood Men’s Golf Club and the “Off the Toe” Club. He enjoyed golf, horseshoes, hunting, fishing and reading.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Mary Beth and Dave Hunt of Santa Rosa, and Kate and Steve MacIlraith of Penn Valley; son and daughter-in-law Pete and Lana Hansen of Grass Valley, and Sam and Cathy Hansen of South Lake Tahoe; and sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and Wayne Womack of Novato. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary T. Hansen; and parents Mary and Elvess Hansen.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
