Gold Country shines on home floor

Gold Country Gymnastics hosted a girls compulsory level gymnastics competition Sept. 21 with several local tumblers placing in the top five.

In the Level 3 Older, Sierra Payne was impressive, finishing second on bars, third on floor, fourth on beam and first all around with a score of 35.075.

In the Level 3 Younger category, Elsie Luisetti finished third on vault and sixth all around.

In Level 3 Middle A, Elizabeth Harris finished third on bars and got an 8.95 on vault.

Nora Matthews, Emily Starnes, Laura and Sarah Runion all finished within .4 of each other on vault with scores ranging from 8.9 to 8.55 and increased their all-around scores.

In Level 3 Middle B, Cali Fellows finished second on vault with a 9.225, fourth on bars and fifth all around with a score of 34.125.

The Level 3s finished third in the team all-around.

In the Level 4 Younger category, Ali Vandra finished third on vault, second on beam and fifth all around with a score of 33.1. Ayla Black improved her all-around score by more than seven points.

In Level 4 Older, Skyler Meinholz finished fifth on bars and seventh all around with a score of 33.525.

Samantha Gobert finished fifth on vault, third on beam and eighth all around with a score of 32.475.

Amira Afshartabar, Megan Kiser and Linden Lovett all improved their overall scores by more than three points.

The Level 4s finished fourth in the team all around.

Coaches may submit game reports by email at or by phone at 530-477-4232. deadline for submission is 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 p.m. Sunday.
