Glimpse a Christmas-past

Observe a historical look at Christmas when area mines were at the forefront of the economy here.

The historically-decorated Bourn Cottage and Clubhouse at the Empire Mine State Historic Park will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Friday and Saturday.

Docents in period dress provide a glimpse of how Christmas was while Santa and his elves delight children in the Clubhouse.

Park admission is $1 for anyone 17-and-older and free for children under 16. The Empire Mine is at 10791 E. Empire in Grass Valley. Call 273-8522 for more information.
