Giving families some relief – and children some fun – at RidgeLine
RidgeLine Pediatric Day Health and Respite Services is a specialized day health facility for medically fragile children from birth to 21 years of age.
Closely collaborating with the child’s physician and local agencies, we provide skilled nursing and therapeutic, developmental and educational activities within a comfortable, home-like setting.
We opened our doors in June 2005 after having met and surpassed the numerous, stringent requirements for the facility and personnel specified by the California’s Department of Health Services.
We are one of a dozen such licensed facilities in California.
Our program was developed with an understanding of the daily demands of caring for a medically fragile child and the difficulty in finding in-home, skilled nursing care.
We provide convenience and flexibility for families, with safety and peace of mind a priority. Our services are personalized and tailored for each child’s special needs.
All of our caring, competent and professional staff are pediatric-trained and experienced, and include registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses and personal care attendants.
Our facility consultants who provide onsite care offer pediatric occupational therapy, physical therapy, music therapy and fun therapeutic, developmental and educational activities – presented by our activities director and music therapist.
We work closely with outside agencies to coordinate additional supportive services, such as Alta California Regional Center, California Children’s Services, Hospice of the Foothills, Nevada County Infant Program and the Nevada County Superintendent of School Special Education Services.
We are licensed to care for up to eight children at a time. We have limited openings.
A no-cost nursing assessment can be scheduled to determine whether a child is eligible for our services.
RidgeLine services are eligible for state and federally funded programs, and we can bill those programs directly. Private pay is another option.
Owner Jennifer Hughes holds a master’s degree and is a registered nurse, pediatric nurse practitioner and credentialed special education school nurse. She has more than 25 years of pediatric nursing experience.
