Gilbert Muentz

Services for Gilbert Muentz of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, 828 W. Main St. in Grass Valley, and will be followed by a reception. Burial will be at the Pacific Grove Cemetery in Monterey.

Mr. Muentz died Monday, Dec. 9, in Grass Valley. He was 74.



He was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Fred and Lydia Muentz. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He graduated from Ohio State University. He married Jeanne on Dec. 27, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio. He retired from Castle Metals and was a member of the Alta Sierra Golf Club.

He is survived by his daughters Susan Frazier of Charlottesville, Va., and Patty Troupe of Modesto; brother, Don Muentz of Grass Valley; companion. Pepper Fox of Grass Valley; and seven grandchildren.




He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Muentz, in 1987.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
