Get out for Litton Trail Faire

A leisurely stroll along a wooded trail with fine art, live music, a champagne brunch, children’s activities and a raffle constitute the annual Litton Trail Faire, a Nevada County Land Trust event that celebrates trails and the outdoors.

The event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday is along a one-mile stretch of the Litton Trail. Access and parking are at Sierra College Drive in Grass Valley.

Family activities include a magic show, games and face-painting.

Mountain Laurel, Peter Van Zant and his Railroad Bills, Emerald Mist and the Strum Bum ukulele group will be among the musical groups performing.

Brunch items served at various trail stops include sausage, fruit, veggies, cheese, breads, muffins, champagne and crepes Normandie.

Besides walkers, the trail is accessible to baby strollers, wheelchairs, bikes and dogs on leashes.

Brunch tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for ages 6 through 12; admission is waived for children 5 and under. Raffle tickets are $2 for chances to win items such as artwork and books by area residents, lodging and ski lift tickets.

The event is free, with tickets required only for the brunch.

Trail Faire tickets are at Harmony Books, Java John’s, Nevada City Postal Co., Odyssey Books and the Land Trust office in Grass Valley.
