Geraldine Harpold

Geraldine “Jerri” A. Harpold died Sept. 7 at her home in Nevada City. She was 67.

Services will be announced at a later date.

Mrs. Harpold was born Nov. 1, 1940, in Cowan, Tenn., to James Kelly Ashley and Stella Brewer. She attended high school. She married Frank Harpold on March 10, 1957, in Chesterfield, S.C.



Mrs. Harpold worked for Hospice of the Foothills for the last 10 years. She loved playing card games, sewing, flowers and family.

Mrs. Harpold is survived by her husband, Frank Harpold of Nevada City; son, Donald of San Jose; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Barbara of Grass Valley; grandsons Jesse, Dylan and Zachary of Grass Valley; granddaughter, Ava Grace Harpold of Grass Valley; sisters Keline and Athene, both of North Carolina, Linda of Virginia and Mable Ashley of Tennessee, and brothers Grover Ashley of Tennessee and J.W. Ashley of Alabama.




She was preceded in death by her mother, Stella Brewer Ashley; father, James K. Ashley; brothers Raven and Lawrence; sister, Edith, and stepmother, Mae Ashley.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 2399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley, CA 95945.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.
