Gerald Voska

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Rough and Ready Highway, Grass Valley, for Gerald “Jerry” H. Voska.

Mr. Voska passed away June 13 in Santa Clara. He was 87.

Mr. Voska was born Jan. 25, 1920, in Stamford, Conn. During World War II, he served as a captain in the United States Army Air Force and spent 18 months as a prisoner of war.



On Oct. 27, 1945, Mr. Voska married Dolores Locklin Voska in Sacramento. He graduated from the University of Southern California and later worked for Wilson Meat Co., in Los Angeles, for more than 30 years.

In 1979, Mr. and Mrs. Voska retired to Grass Valley.




Mr. Voska is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Anita and Thomas Powell of Placentia, and Melanie and Steve Stavis of Los Gatos; grandchildren Heather Perlman, Jeffrey Powell, Gavin, Kyle and Carley Stavis; and great-grandsons Cole and Grant Powell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores, in 1994.
