George Zeiter

George Carl Zeiter passed away May 12 in Grass Valley. He was 79.

Mr. Zeiter was born Feb. 16, 1928, to Mary Agnes Zeiter and George Leo Zeiter in San Francisco.

He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Francisco and served in the United States Navy for two years.



On Feb. 21, 1970, he married Arlene Zeiter in Belmont.

Mr. Zeiter worked for the San Francisco Police Department and was a highly decorated patrolman. He was also a member of the Peace Officers Association and the Elks. His hobbies included gardening and reading.




Mr. Zeiter is survived by his wife, Arlene Zeiter of Grass Valley; son, George J. Zeiter of Kensington, N.H.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, Edward Zeiter.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels.
