George Cossairt

Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, at New Elm Ridge Cemetery in Grass Valley for George W. Cossairt, who passed away on March 9 in Grass Valley. He was 89.

Mr. Cossairt was born on Dec. 23, 1917, to Earl and Esther (Smith) Cossairt in Olive.

Mr. Cossairt received a chemical engineering degree from the University of Southern California and between 1942-1946 he was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army.



Mr. Cossairt married Eleanor Buckles.

He was employed by the beet sugar industry as an engineer, factory manager, factory designer, author, lecturer and instrumentation designer. Mr. Cossairt was also a member of the Beet Sugar Development Foundation.




He is survived by his son, Wayne Cossairt of Chicago Park; daughter, Elaine Gallo of Lake Wildwood; loyal friend and companion, Helen Williams; and nine grandchilden and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Cossairt was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
