George Bush’s war

Who institutes a draft is irrelevant. What is relevant is what made it necessary, if abhorrent, and that responsibility lies with George W. Bush and his invasion of Iraq. Would these conservatives prefer that our brave National Guard contingents continue to be subject to successive tours of duty in a “back door” draft?

This war in Iraq is George Bush’s war. It is a disastrous diversion from the real war on terrorism, a war which has created a safe haven for terrorists where none existed before, and radicalized many Muslims who were previously moderate.

To blame the Democrats for causing a draft is like blaming the firemen for causing the fire.
