Gary Ralph Parsons was born Aug. 27, 1940, in Bismark, N.D.

Mr. Parsons was a man of many talents. He studied psychology and worked with troubled teens for many years. He had a beautiful singing voice, was a fluent Spanish speaker and masterful photographer. While in Grass Valley, he repaired and sold tools, bought and sold antiques and furniture, and repaired and sold classic cameras. He moved to Sebastopol in the 1990s and had his own camera store. He returned to Nevada County in 1998 where he lived out the rest of his life. He had an eye for the beautiful and unusual, a keen intellect, a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his nephew, Christopher Larks; his four footed companion, Tambodhi, and his friends who will always love and treasure him.
