Gail LaBrie

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 6, at the Nevada City Elks Lodge for Gail Bolton LaBrie.

Mrs. LaBrie, a third-generation Californian, died June 18 of aggressive cancers. She was 70.

Mrs. LaBrie was born June 1, 1937, to Hubert and Catherine Fox Bolton in Los Angeles. She worked as an administrative assistant for many years at Capitol Records in Los Angeles and at the Anaheim Convention Center in Orange County before her 42-year marriage to Leo LaBrie.



She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing and counted cross-stitch embroidery. She was deeply involved with the Nevada County Chernobyl Children’s Project. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Grass Valley, for many years.

Mrs. LaBrie is survived by her daughters Laura Leathley and Carol Hawkins; grandchildren Lynn, Aaron and Catherine; and brothers Bernard and Greg.
