Frieda Hedrick

Memorial services for Frieda Hedrick of Grass Valley were conducted Monday at the Grass Valley Elks Lodge No. 538. A gathering for family and friends will be at the home of Vivian and Merv Hansen in Quincy on Saturday at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ross Cemetery in Indian Valley.

Mrs. Hedrick – also known by the nicknames “GG,” “Gram,” “Grammy,” “Freedom,” “Dead Eye,” “Aunt Frieda,” “Maidu Elder” – died Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Roseville.

She was born in North Arm, to Rita Springer. She was married to Martin Hedrick for 56 years. She enjoyed bowling, and being a spectator at all her grandchildren’s various sports activities. She also enjoyed making pies, playing cards with her buddies and visiting the casinos.



She is survived by her daughters, Lillian Hughes, Roselene McGary, and Tina Harrison; sisters Susie Campbell, Molley Sosa, and Rachel Hedrick; grandchildren Desiree Pemberton, Chelsi Hedrick, George Harrison Jr., Sara Hedrick, Forrest Harrison, Rita Harvey, Eyler Harrison, and Roland Harrison; great-grandchildren Maya and Brady Pemberton, MacKenzie Enos, Owen and Colby Hedrick; nieces, Vivian Hansen and Lila Knight; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Wesley Hedrick Sr.; son, Martin Wesley Hedrick Jr.; and brother, Charlie Stark.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
