Free lectures offered on investment, aging and memory

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Sierra College, which offers classes to older adults, is introducing the new Club OLLI with two free lectures in November.

The first lecture is on how to use philanthropy in retirement and estate planning. It will explain the tax and financial benefits of using bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and life insurance policies to support one’s favorite non-profit programs. It will be offered twice, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Nov. 1 and Nov. 13 at the Sierra College Roseville Gateway campus.

Another lecture will discuss the latest research from the University of California Davis Medical School on aging and memory. It will be held at the same venue from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Nov. 16.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute classes for older adults are offered at Sierra College’s Rocklin, Roseville, Grass Valley and Truckee campuses, and at five other sites in Placer and Nevada counties. For more information about the institute, visit or call 916 -781-6290 or 800-242-4004, ext. 6290.
