Fred Schneider

Private memorial service for Fred Herbert Schneider of Penn Valley were conducted at his home.

Mr. Schneider died Friday, Oct. 15, at home. He was 73.

He was born May 5, 1931, in Fresno, to Herbert J. and Margaret L. (Davis) Schneider. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Fresno, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955. He married Gladys Martin on Jan. 7, 1956. He retired from the California Highway Patrol in Southern California. He enjoyed gold, playing cards with friends and RVing.



He is survived by his wife, Gladys Schneider of Penn Valley; sons Kenneth Schneider of Madera, and Leslie Schneider of Fontana; daughter, Lori Wilson of Half Moon Bay; sister, Margaret Breashears of Fresno; brothers Conrad Schneider of Bullhead, Ariz., Rodger Schneider of North Bend, Wash., and James Schneider; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945, or the Cancer Center.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
