Frankness vs. insouciance

I am just about saturated with all the for and against arguments for the various county supervisorial candidates, so I now feel compelled to express my own opinion.

I believe that an effective politician is one that is willing to solicit my support in person and will come to my door seeking my input regarding the manifold issues to be confronted by whomever is elected. Olivia Diaz certainly fits this mold. I have met with her in the course of her door-to-door campaigning and was extremely impressed by her frankness and no-nonsense attitude.

She answered my questions without hesitation or side-stepping. She has my vote. For the record, I have never seen any of the other candidates in this neighborhood. I have however encountered some of them at the county library and have detected what I perceive to be arrogance and insouciance.
