Franklin Pilat Jr.

Franklin J. ” Frankie” Pilat Jr., 64, of Grass Valley died Saturday, Jan. 28, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.

No services are planned. His ashes will be scattered privately by his family.

Mr. Pilat was born Dec. 16, 1941, in Oakland, to Franklin J. and Harriet L. Pilat. He was a lather for 40 years. He enjoyed the fishing, camping, playing the guitar, and spending time with his family. He had been a resident of Grass Valley for 10 years.



He is survived by his wife, Marlyn “Mel” Pilat of Grass Valley; mother, Harriet L. Pilat of Grass Valley; son, Aaron of Grass Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Retta and Gary Apodacf of Nevada City; daughters Darla of Grass Valley, and Helena of Tracy; grandson, Cory of Grass Valley; brother and sister-in-law, George and Barbara Pilat; sister, Jackie Tufo; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Rocha of San Leandro; sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Lindy and Loretta Robinson of Chico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
