Frank Cole

Private services for Frank Robert Cole of Grass Valley will be conducted at a later date.

Mr. Cole died Sunday, Dec. 29, in Grass Valley at Meadowview Manor Convalescent Hospital.



He was born on Feb. 25, 1914, in Elroy, Wis. He was a 60-year resident of Madison, Wis. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 as a gunnery instructor. He was an insurance agent for Mutual Trust Life for more than 40 years. He enjoyed music, sports, hunting, fishing and trapshooting. He was a member of the Nevada Lodge No. 13, the Golden Hills Scottish Rite, the N.R.A., the Sacramento Gun Club, the creative writing class at the Senior Center and Sierra Services for the Blind. He played the piano at the Bret Harte Retirement Inn and at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Anne B. Anderson of Grass Valley; two daughters; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, all of Wisconsin; stepchildren Embry Fantozzi of Live Oak, Bob Norman of Odessa, Fla., Bill Norman of Novato and Nancy Norman of Gridley.




Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
