Francis Montgomery

Graveside services for Francis B. Montgomery of Reno, Nev. will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at New Elm Ridge Cemetery in Grass Valley. Pastor Andy Owens will officiate the services.

Mr. Montgomery died Saturday, Oct. 21. He was 51.

He was born July 19, 1955, in Placerville, to Ray Allen Montgomery and Sadie DeGroot. He was a distribution manager for 20-plus years and an expert in creating cultured marble. He enjoyed gold panning the North Fork of the American River with his brother, Mel, having muscle cars, football every Sunday, and gardening. He was very creative and always had inventions and projects.



He is survived by his daughter, April Montgomery of Reno, Nev.; son, Adrian Montgomery of Reno, Nev. ex-wife and friend, Ingrid Sorensen of Grass Valley; fiancé, Valerie Costa of Ojai; stepdaughter, Chance Costa of Ojai; brother and sister-in-law, Wells and Janice Montgomery of Missoula, Mont.; sister and brother-in-law, Alita and Bud Bryan of Grass valley; and aunt, Margine Dickenson of Placerville. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Allen Montgomery; mother, Sadie DeGroot; and brother, Mel Montgomery.
