Frances Jones

Services for Frances W. Jones of Redding will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Nevada City United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Jones died Saturday, Jan. 29, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding. She was 96.

She was born Oct. 30, 1908, in North Dakota, she moved to Welcome Home Assisted Living in Redding in 2004 from Nevada City. She had been a homemaker since her marriage to Throp Jones in 1933. They lived on the Empire Mine grounds, moved to Downey and the Downey United Methodist Church in 1940, then back to Nevada City in 1973, where they were members of the Nevada City United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.



She is survived by her son, Evan of Nevada City; daughters Susan Allen of Redding, and Deborah Prescott of Australia; sister, Susan Hill of North Dakota; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to choice of the donor’s charity, or plant a tree in Frances’ name.
