Four cars stolen in Lake of the Pines

Four Lake of the Pines households woke up Wednesday morning to find their vehicles stolen.

Subdivision Director of Public Safety Bob Markussen said one vehicle was found only two blocks from the home it was taken from but the other three remain missing. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office was at the scene investigating the vehicle thefts.

Markussen said there was also a burglary at Lake of the Pines overnight but did not know if it was related to the vehicle thefts. He said he is sharing the information with Lake Wildwood security forces to see if there could be any connection with a recent rash of vehicle thefts and burglaries there.
