“A Little Egypt” is a story of forbidden love told through belly dance performances by Troupe Al Ama Middle Eastern Dancers and Arabian Jewels Troupe.

The show is Saturday at the Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Building. Troupe Al Ama is from Nevada City; the Arabian Jewels is from Lodi.

“No other troupes perform dance theater because they normally just run dances in a row as a show,” said organizer Shahinaz. “It takes a special story to combine so many forms of belly dance.”

The performance begins at 6:30 p.m. at 255 S. Auburn St.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets are at Herb Shop Records, BriarPatch and at the door.

Call Shahinaz at 432-0534 for more information.
